So, I have to take a quick mental health break right now and . . . confess, vent, whine? (not quite sure the right word). In any case, I hope I'm not alone in this, but I have this awful habit of letting really random things derail me from all other tasks. For instance, last night we were out working in the yard. We were finally cutting down the forest of grass to a more manageable field (we're working with push mowers and clippers here people) and finally got our vegetables planted. I was going to do just a few more things before heading in, when I finally looked down to see why my wrist was feeling so weird. I was shocked to see that the vein in my left wrist was all big and swollen--the whole middle part of my wrist was blue. I started panicking and ran to show Royce. He was not that impressed or worried. But I was panicky (I don't know why--I've just never had that happen before) and I even started getting light-headed and nauseated.
We decided to just watch it for awhile, but all I could will myself to do was sit on the couch in front of the TV. I called my doctor-brother and my mom to get their opinions on whether or not I needed to worry about it, but everybody thought it was probably fine. (I think I'm one of those people that likes everyone else to overreact, and then I can play the part of the calm, cool, level-headed person).
As a result, I did not do the laundry like I had planned, I did not shower like I had planned (I was covered in bug-spray and didn't want to bring the bug-spray to bed with me), but rather I sat on the couch in self-pity, making Royce bring me bowls of cereal and what-not. If only this were a one-time event, but I find myself allowing these excuses far too often. Maybe it's the Spirit prompting me to not over-exert myself (ha! I seriously doubt I'm in danger of over-exertion).

Heather! I hope your wrist is okay! I have days like that too... you're not alone!
You're so not alone! I've got the same style of crazy.
My jaw started making a small popping noise when I yawned really big a few weeks ago. Instead of just asking a dentist about it, now I lie in bed every night opening and closing my mouth, and contemplating how I could die during surgery.
So has your vein gotten better? Worse?
That's weird about your wrist! What has it been doing since then? Did it get better? Maybe you just over did it a bit, and it got irritated?
And I find myself similarly derailing--and I find that I want someone to take care of me for a while. Then I feel better and I can get back to business.
but if your wrist isn't better maybe you should get it checked out...
I am the queen of derailment. Don't try to take away my crown. And I echo the question... Are u ok?
My wrist is looking better--the swelling has gone down almost completely, it's not as tender, and now instead of just the vein being swollen, it looks like a big bruise. So I don't know what I did, but it was weird!
